For many years Antico Cadore and Echi del Passato, heirs to our woodworking tradition, have been producing flooring in all types of wood, using both old and new timber, and working with machines or with hands as needed with artisan wisdom and technical expertise.Hands that know wood, hands that are still familiar with the gestures of long ago, recognise the echoes of the past, and are fonder of using hand planes than sanders. Antique wood is carefully salvaged, selected and restored, treated and then assembled and laid in a manner that is respectful of nature and complies with the strict rules of bio-architecture. It can thus experience another life and another history. Antique teak from Thailand, for example, or wood salvaged from old dismantled Indian temples, is imbued with a profound spirituality. When transformed into flooring, such materials impart a unique emotion, one that is difficult to express, but we can feel it beneath our feet and it can fill our senses, conveying us across both space and time. The certification issued by the International Museum of Art and Science and “CE” marking assure both the quality of the flooring and its authenticity.
